English translation:
Everything indicates that the president of El Salvador, Mauricio Funes, was not given the red carpet treatment by Cuban authorities, as punishment for his ambiguous political projection.
Note that not even the "resuscitated" Fidel Castro granted him an interview during his trip to the island.
The national media, all under control of the state, gave greater emphasis to the coincidental visit to the country of the Foreign Minister of Nigeria than to Funes' visit.
We must remember that this is the first time that a president of El Salvador has visited Cuba since the establishment of the communist regime, more than half a century ago.
The disgust of the hosts with the former guerrilla leader must be related to some statements he made to the international press, which criticized the totalitarian model as well as his refusal to allow El Salvador to become a member of ALBA.
